Exploring City Circuit Tokyo Bay: The Future of Urban Karting on Odaiba

Odaiba is well-known for its futuristic architecture and entertainment, but it has recently become home to something truly unique for motorsports fans. Located on the former site of Palette Town, City Circuit Tokyo Bay is officially the only permanent racing circuit within the 23 wards of central Tokyo.

A New Era of Motorsports

What makes this circuit stand out is its commitment to sustainable technology. The facility uses high-performance EV (Electric Vehicle) karts developed by the legendary Japanese racing team, TOM'S.

Because these karts are electric, they are remarkably quiet and produce zero emissions, making them the perfect fit for a modern urban environment like Odaiba. Don't let the "electric" label fool you—these karts can reach speeds of up to 50km/h. Due to the low seating position, the sensation of speed is intense and professional.

Racing for Everyone

One of the best things about City Circuit Tokyo Bay is its accessibility.

  • No License Needed: You don’t need a driver’s license to race on the main outdoor track.

  • Family Friendly: There is a dedicated indoor circuit designed specifically for children to safely experience EV karting.

  • Professional Gear: High-end racing simulators are also available on-site for those who want to practice their lines before hitting the real asphalt.

The Scenic Walk

Walking through this part of the city is an experience in itself. As you head toward the circuit from Tokyo Teleport Station, you pass through peaceful Japanese gardens and get iconic views of the Fuji TV Building with its famous 32-meter titanium sphere. It is a fascinating mix of traditional calm and high-tech excitement.
